What is least-cost routing?

Least-cost routing sends contactless debit card payments through the cheaper debit network where possible. It could save you money by reducing the cost to acquire debit contactless transactions.

Does Kokipay accept American Express?

Can Australian businesses still surcharge card payments?

From 1 October 2026, eftpos, Visa and Mastercard are introducing no-surcharge rules in Australia following the Reserve Bank of Australia’s review of retail payments, and American Express, UnionPay and PayPal have said they will do the same. That means businesses can no longer add a fee because a customer pays by card, so a low flat rate such as Kokipay Super Saver EFTPOS at 0.92% (ex GST) matters more than ever.
